Hungarian was her mother tongue and she used it frequently to keep her proficiency. Bruckner was born in Hollywood California to a Hungarian father and an Russian mother. They later divorced. Her paternal grandfather is German. The couple came together in Hungary and moved into the U.S. in 1984 through the refugee camp located in Italy. There are two sisters and a younger brother.
